    NYRR Run as One 4M (2019 Race Recap)

    Over the weekend I ran the NYRR Run as One 4 miler, and this one was especially fun. (Insert sarcasm here). In all of the years this race has been running, this Saturday’s was the first time it rained. And I’m not talking sprinkles! It poured.     2014 Staten Island Half Marathon Recap: To Run Or Not To Run

    On Sunday, October 12th 2014, I completed my first half-marathon. The Staten Island Half Marathon to be exact. I started training for this race in July and the process had come to an abrupt stop after being diagnosed with the oh-so-awesome common runner injury, IT band syndrome. Yep, a pain in the behind it was. I stopped running totally for a bit over a month as per my doctor’s advice. I did a series of stretches and plenty of foam rolling daily to help the bands and strengthen my hips.
