    G. Larry James Legacy 5K + Atlantic City Half (2019 Recap)

This past weekend was packed with miles on the pavement, starting with a 5K on Saturday followed by a half marathon on Sunday. The weather was amazing on Saturday and called for a perfect running day. It was a bit chilly in the morning so I had on a light running long sleeved top… and a jacket. Definitely a rookie mistake! Five minutes in I was hot but was able to finish strong. Upon crossing the finish I was overwhelmed with nausea but ended up fine. I was definitely overheated. Sunday was chilly and cloudy. The forecast called for rain and everyone hoped it would hold out for the race,…

NYRR Run as One 4M (2019 Race Recap)

Over the weekend I ran the NYRR Run as One 4 miler, and this one was especially fun. (Insert sarcasm here). In all of the years this race has been running, this Saturday’s was the first time it rained. And I’m not talking sprinkles! It poured. Despite the moist conditions I still headed out there and got it done with thousands of other runners. I woke up around 6am and saw it was still kind of dark and that the rain was pretty consistent. I was dressed and ready to go by 7 but the whole time I thought about staying home. I convinced myself to head out the door…

Mesa-Phoenix Half Marathon (2019 Race Recap)

The Mesa-Phoenix Marathon took place this past weekend and I participated in the half! This course is known for its downhill, flat & fast nature making it one of the top courses for personal records and Boston qualifying times. I arrived in Phoenix on Friday and went to the expo right off the plane. It was smaller than other expos I had been to but it was still cool. There were a nice amount of vendors and I was even able to score some girl scout cookies! It was a quick in and out thing as there wasn’t too much to do. Getting to my AirBnB and grabbing some food…

Blue Cross Broad Street 10 Mile Run (2017 Race Recap)

Blue Cross Broad Street Run [2017 Race Recap] It Is Way. Too. Early. I had a 3:30am wake up call and I had gone to sleep at 11:30pm so I was definitely tired. Even on the days I get little sleep, the excitement and adrenaline on race day always keeps me up. Ideally I’d like a full nights sleep but you know… life happens. My run buddy and I arrived Philly and parked at the finish line, because there was no way we were dealing with the Septa (train) going back. We were very early so we linked up with some friends and hung out in their van to keep warm…
