Audio-Technica Announces Four SonicSport Headphones #CES2015

As you may know, I am always out scouting for the latest sport headphones, so when I heard about Audio Technica doing their “Find your fit” demos I had to swing by. At CES 2015, Audio-Technica revealed four new headphone models to their SonicSport line and I got a chance to check them out briefly.

The SonicSport line is said to have the perfect fit and they are IPX 5 certified so they can be used in wet conditions (not fully waterproof).

All four headphones are designed to stay in place even during active exercising and are sweatproof and washable with an IPX5-lab-certified rating. The ATH-SPORT1iS adds smartphone compatibility with a built-in microphone for answering calls and an in-line remote for controlling phone calls and music playback.

“Our new SonicSport models offer a stay-in-place fit even during the most strenuous workouts while providing the outstanding sound quality Audio-Technica is known for,” said Crystal Griffith, Audio-Technica Consumer Marketing Manager. “They’re comfortable, durable and available in colors and styles to suit any fitness enthusiast’s headphone preference.”

The four additions are as follows:

ATH-SPORT1 ($34.95) // ATH-SPORT1iS ($39.95) – Has hinged ear hooks to provide a better fit, 3.9 foot asymmetrical cord, 8.5mm drivers, and comes with standard silicone eartips in XS/S/M/L and ridged eartips in S/M/L. Both models are available in pink, red, navy-yellow and black. The SPORT1 also comes in blue and yellow-pink.

ATH-SPORT2 ($39.95) – Features earpieces that mirror the hollow of the ear for a comfortable fit that allows sound to be improved as well. These also have a 3.9 foot cord and have 10mm drivers. Multiple size ear-tips and comes in black, red, navy-yellow, blue and yellow-pink.

ATH-SPORT3 ($59.95) – These feature 10mm drivers, flexible memory cables, a 3.9 foot cord asymmetrically designed with a clothing clip and have several size ear-tips. Comes in black and red and comes with a case.
